I was telling a friend this weekend about my episode with insomnia and spending the whole night on Pinterest looking at ideas for painting my apartment and she said " I wonder if we have become more Explorers than Doers." When she said that it really resonated with me because I had been considering painting my apartment for over 2 years now. Was thinking about doing it enough for me? I immediately decided that I was done Exploring (fearing action/ doubting ) would take action the next day and paint my wall. The next day I headed to Ace Hardware, selected a color, actually researched the painting process with intent, and 4 EXCRUCIATING hours later. Voila!!! I have no regrets. Doing really beats Exploring!

Explorers vs Doers

Woosah
Its a rainy Friday morning and I have a plan to pick up my purse from the dry cleaning in my building, grab some coffee, and get ready for a shorter work day. The rain isnt quite what I wanted but I'm in good spirits non the less. I head downstairs to the dry cleaners ask for my purse and see the perplexed look on the lady's face as she cannot locate my purse. She tells me some story ( that I personally do not believe about my purse being ready I next Wednesdy! So already my day doesn't go as planned and I am annoyed. So I walk to work, head to the coffee shop in my building and ask for a small Americano with extra room. What I am given is an Americano with minimal room. I proceed to "inform" the barista that extra room is to ensure that the drink has less water and is more concentratated for future references. As I walk off upset - it hits me! I am INCREDIBLY blessed and I have become a person that isn't aware of it and too focused on self! Things will not always go your way and they shouldn't. If things did would you ever stop in your tracks and reflect re-adjust? Probably not!

Order
I was cooking meat pies this weekend and suddenly became frustrated at the mess I was making while improvising to make a hurried dish since I was : A) Hungry B) Unwilling to go to the store. I almost hyperventilated when a voice said " Order is a choice as is chaos" I looked around and noticed that I was subconsciously making a choice to be disorderly. I quickly put away a few ingredients and made the conscious decision to align the dough pieces in row on the wax paper. The sense of peace that I had because of those minor adjustment was a wake up call to me. If you want order make the necessary changes, however if you are OK with c
haos adjust your expectations!
